Coins of America® Announces Release of the Iowa State Quarter
Coins of America® Announces Release of the Iowa State Quarter

The Iowa State Quarter is the fourth of 2004, and the 29th in the U.S. Mint 50 State Quarters® program.

The reverse of each state celebrates the special history, tradition and symbols of that state. The Iowa quarter's "Foundation in Education" theme is based on the painting "Arbor Day" by world-renowned Iowa artist Grant Wood, and depicts students with a teacher planting a tree beside a one-room schoolhouse. The Iowa quarter design was developed through submissions, suggestions, and comments from the public. The Iowa Quarter Commission, appointed by Governor Tom Vilsack, oversaw the process and submitted five initial designs to be considered by the U.S. Mint.

Coins of America is making available a limited-edition packaged State Quarter collection. Each Collection contains two uncirculated Iowa State Quarters, from both the Denver and Philadelphia mints. A new State Quarter will be released approximately every 10 weeks until 2008, the quarters are released in the same order that they joined the union.

Coins of America is offering the Iowa State Quarter Collection, along with those previously released through participating banks and credit unions throughout the United States, as well as online at
